Scope of Responsibilities: Estimate and sell jobs that include water, sewer service repairs and replacement work for Plumbing Installation Department

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Journeyman level plumbing experience (Preferred)
  • Five years in plumbing contracting sales experience with emphasis on utility construction (Preferred)
  • Good knowledge of plumbing code
  • Excellent customer relations skills to build lifelong customers
  • Excellent communications skills to ensure each job goes smoothly


Job Responsibilities:

  • Estimate and sell jobs that include, but are not limited to the following types of work: water service, sewer service, sump pumps, sewage ejector systems, camera/video of sewer lines, other outside plumbing work requiring hand digging and/or tractor work
  • Above work is generally residential, but can be small commercial or light industrial (no new construction)
  • Work may be, but not limited to repair, re-route or replacement of plumbing
  • Attend sales, product, technical, service training when needed
  • Prepare and obtain building department permits for the Utility Department or other departments as needed
  • Follow-up with prospects to close sale, answer questions or learn when they are unsuccessful in bids
  • Assist with customer questions and concerns
  • Assist with service calls as needed
  • Visit ongoing job sits as requested and maintain responsibility for jobs as they progress until final billing is sent.
  • Assist supervisor, production manager, and billing coordinator
  • Any other duties, responsibilities or tasks deemed necessary by supervisor or management


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, and to speak and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

As a dispatcher, you will work as part of a dynamic and passionate team to ensure desired sales metrics. You will match the right technician to every job, helping achieve the company's financial goals.

Dispatch Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate all booked calls. Monitor calls in unassigned.
  • Evaluate booked calls and assign the best technician to each service appointment.
  • Maximize revenue by maintaining complete control over scheduling service and maintenance calls with customers and monitor technicians' performances.
  • Meet daily revenue goals by prioritizing the most urgent and profitable calls.
  • Relay accurate information to technicians, ensuring proficient, quality customer experiences; including any special instructions.
  • Update customers throughout the day on the technician's progress.
  • Hold morning briefing on D-board with Service Manager and update throughout the day.
